February 7th

Today is the 38th day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. If the ancient Mayans were correct, there are 318 days remaining until the end of time.

1936 Felix the Cat by Van Beuren from Otto Messmer debuts
1944 Bing Crosby records "Swinging on a Star" for Decca Records which has nothing to do with celebrity sex.
1945 General Douglas MacArthur returns to Manila as promised
1949 Joe DiMaggio becomes 1st $100,000/year baseball player (New York Yankees). Though still a lot of money, that would less than $900,000 today.  Do you hear that you marginally interesting baseball players?  Joe freakin' DiMaggio got less than $1,000,000 and you want more than $25,000,000.  Show us some dick and we'll talk.
1969 "This Is Tom Jones" debuts on ABC TV.  We all know about the granny panties that were thrown on stage, but we never hear about the briefs and boxers. . .
1982 The Big Prick: 27-year-old sharp-shooter David, trying to impress friends, opens fire on a Saguaro cactus in Arizona. Reportedly, he fires two slugs from a 16-gauge shotgun at a 27-foot cactus, and began to shout, "Timber!" He only has enough time to utter the first syllable before a 23-foot section of the prickly plant falls and crushes him. Status: Removed from the gene pool.

1908 Buster Crabbe, US Olympic swimmer/actor. One of the Tarzans.
1919 Jock Mahoney, US actor.  Tarzan, too.
1946 Pete Postlethwaite, English actor
1951 Kim Milford, US actor
1955 Miguel Ferrer, US actor/Rosemary Clooney's son/George’s cousin
1960 James Spader, US actor
1962 Eddie Izzard, English comedian/actor/cross-dresser
1965 Chris Rock, US comedian/actor/writer/producer
1965 Jason Gedrick, US actor
This side is cute, too!
1968 Mark Tewksbury, gay Canadian swimmer.  If he gets tired of his husband, I speak Canadian!
1971 Chris Zegers, Dutch actor
1973 Victor Webster, Canadian actor.  See Tewks, above.
1977 Mariusz Pudzianowski, Polish strongman/MMA.  I'm not sure, but I think MMA stands for male-male anal.
1978 Ashton Kutcher, actor/producer/beauty pageant winner/former boytoy of Demi Moore
1980 Luis Alandy, Filipino actor

Luis like it ruff
1984 Aaron Michael Davies, US actor

1992 Buzz Sawyer, US professional wrestler, is thrown out of the ring.
2000 Doug Henning, extremely flamboyant but surprisingly heterosexual US magician, disappears in a cheesy costume
2001 Dale Evans, US actress, gets stuffed with Roy Rogers again.

1936 Felix the Cat by Van Beuren from Otto Messmer debuts

Just so there's no confusion, Felix started in the 1920's as was popular in silent films as well as on the funny pages. 1936 was the year a new spiffy Felix debuted (kind of like this summer's Spiderman reboot). Sadly, Felix's career resurrection didnt' work and was short lived.
