1836 London Working Men's Association forms.
1858 Abraham Lincoln says "A house divided against itself cannot stand." Hmmm. Tall, skinny freshman senator from Illinois who makes a compelling speeches. . .
1880 Salvation Army forms in London to prey on unsuspecting drunks and other misfortunate people.
1904 James Joyce begins courting Nora Barnacle and writes down every thing that transpires during the day in a giant run on sentence that runs about 1,000 pages. I must admit that I have never gotten past page 23.

2008 Massachusetts’ Gloucester High School disclose why the teen pregnancy rate at their school more than quadrupled over the past year. The dramatic increase is due, in part, to a pact among 17 girls from the school, none older than 16, who vowed to get pregnant and raise their children together.
