1864 Sir Roger David Casement [Ruairí Dáithí Mac Easmainn], gay Irish martyr/British consul, famous for reporting civil and human rights abuses in the Congo and Peru. When he turned to his own country and the rights of the Irish, he was arrested, tried, and hanged by the Brits for treason. The verdict prompted much outrage and sympathy for Casement, so the British produced his "black diaries" in which it became apparent that Sir Roger liked them young and hung. Those agitating on his behalf were silenced. They didn't really hang him for treason, they hanged him for sucking cock.
